Serial Connection of Two Independent Queues with General Bulk Service and Vacation in Unit II

This Paper analyses a queuing model in which two type of customer units, one of single service (Unit I) and the other of bulk service (Unit II). Unit I has only one exponential server, which server singly. In Unit II, there are ‘c’ exponential server which serves par alley by general bulk service rule. These two units are connected in series for service but separated by a buffer of finite size ‘N’. If the batch size is less than ‘a’ then the servers in unit II automatically goes for an exponential vacation. The steady state probability vector for number of customers waiting in the buffer and the infinite customers waiting in the queue for service in unit I are obtained by modified geometric method.
